Pupils and teachers are delighted to announce that the school’s Developing the Young Workforce programme has won a national education award.
Dalziel took top spot in the Inspiring Career Opportunity category at this year’s Community Education Awards.
We were presented with a winner’s plaque, certificate and gifts at a special assembly held at the school on Wednesday 6 September. Members of the school’s DYW committee, pupils and a representative from business partnership AMECFW all led presentations at the event.
The awards are an annual celebration and recognition of schools’ efforts to help children and young people become responsible community members.
Robert Birch, Head Teacher of Dalziel High School, said: “We achieved this award because of our Developing the Young Workforce Programme, which supports pupils to give them a better understanding of career opportunities and the world of work is a high priority in our school and I am delighted that this has been recognised with this award.”
The Inspiring Career Opportunity Award focuses on initiatives that have enhanced career opportunities for pupils and that have shown dedication in helping children and young people progress into the workplace through links with the business community.
