Deputy First Minister of Scotland and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, John Swinney, visited Dalziel High School Motherwell today to talk with pupils and staff about the award winning and sector leading Developing the Young Workforce Programme and Education/Industry Partnership.
Congratulations to all pupils who have recently passed music exams.
Dalziel High School was invited to be part of an exciting new pilot programme which has been devised by a team of experienced mental health trainers to raise awareness about common mental health issues which may be experienced by young people in schools in Scotland.
Once again, our choir supported the Hansel Charity by participating in its Festival of Choirs at Princes Square on Thursday 7th December
Once again, we would like to congratulate our pupils on their outstanding exam results.
Three boys, Callum Sergeant, Colin Gass, and Cameron Gunn, entered a competition called Dragons Lair, hosted by North Lanarkshire Council and Business Gateway Coatbridge. The boys ended up winning 1st Place - £500 and Tablets for themselves.
Dalziel’s late arrival, St Andrew’s early departure and a general lack of numbers meant that this latest fixture was less useful than had been hoped.
On Friday 3rd it was the turn for the Girls to attend the SVA Volleyball Festival at Ravenscraig this event following on from the Boys the previous week.
The Hallowe'en Dance took place on 30th of October, and was an eagerly anticipated, fun-filled evening.
The Friday volleyball club has been strong again this session and the school entered teams in the Mark McGivern Festival which was held in Ravenscraig on 27th Oct.
