Dear Parent/Guardian

Can I thank all parents/carers for your continued support with our dress code. Our pupils are coming to school properly dressed looking very smart. If anyone has any old blazers that are no longer needed we would be happy to put them to good use and they can be handed in to the school office.

  1. Staffing
    We are currently advertising for a new Principal Teacher of Mathematics and a new Principal Teacher of Art and Design. We hope to have these vacancies filled in the next few weeks.

  2. School Show
    Our School Show “The Buddy Holly Story” will be performed in the school from Monday 10 October to Thursday 13 October. This promises to be an excellent show and tickets will be on sale from Tuesday 13 September priced £7 (or £6 for under 16). We expect this show to sell out each evening so get your tickets quickly. We are delighted to announce that our new sponsor for the show is Chris McIntyre Photography.

  3. SQA Examination Results
    The results from the SQA examinations are excellent with improvement on previous years. A full breakdown of the results can be found on our website at

  4. Easter Egg Club
    The Easter Egg Club are on the lookout for new members. The group will resume rehearsals on Thursday 15 September at 7.15 pm within the Clubhouse at Dalziel Park for their 2012 show.

    The Easter Egg Club is the Dalziel High School former pupils’ association but recently membership has included adults from other areas as well as former Dalziel pupils. Each year the group put on a week long review show within the Civic Theatre, Motherwell. The 2012 show will run in the Civic from Tuesday 24 April to Saturday 28 April. The 2012 show is entitled “Lost in Music” and will include popular songs through the decades from the 1940’s to the present day.

    The Easter Egg Club are a small friendly group of both male and female singers with an age range of 19 years to 50 plus! If you enjoy singing and you would like to join our group then please give Andrea Hyslop a call on 01698 292706 for more information.

  5. Parent Council / PTA
    We are fortunate to have a very active Parent Council and Parent s’ Association. The Parents’ Association is hoping to recruit new members so please come along and find out more about our school and how you can help provide the best opportunities for our pupils.
