February 2023 Newsletter

Dear Parent / Carer,

I hope that you and your family are well and that you find the information included in this update useful and interesting.

There is a focus on Senior Phase assessment and support, given the crucial importance of our senior pupils working hard towards success in their SQA courses at this time. Click here to download an up-to-date Supported Study timetable and I would ask you to encourage your child to attend to best prepare them for the SQA exam diet.

We are delighted to announce that on Wednesday 25 January we were accredited the Silver Rights Aware award by UNICEF. The school has been working hard this session to implement an action plan which puts the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child at the forefront of our approach to education and ethos in Dalziel.

As part of our continued journey, we are in the process of creating a school charter which will include focus articles from the UNCRC that have been chosen by pupils, staff, parents and carers. Consultation is ongoing and we look forward to revealing our new school charter soon.
