Choral Shield Winners 2023 - Barclay House !
After months of secrecy, sweat and step-ball-changes, our seniors brought down the curtain at Motherwell Civic this week for the 2023 Choral Shield with Barclay dancing down the wedding aisles and winning the glittering trophy on Wednesday night.
Captain Nathan Bradshaw was the best man for Barclay as they celebrated “Barclay’s Big Day”, a wedding disco of a show which took it to church with songs like “You’re the One That I Want”, “Marry You” and “Dear Future Husband.”
Colville captain Katie McBride cracked the case for Colville with a Cluedo-inspired murder mystery - the dark halls of Martin Manor echoed with the sound of “Killer Queen”, “Runaway Baby” and “Suspicious Minds.”
Finally, Greig captain Amy Skelton’s star was rising with an X Factor inspired performance featuring pop classics such as “Money, Money, Money”, “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “The Greatest Show” soaring high in the charts.
After a tight competition, Barclay grabbed the Choral Shield in the final judges’ vote but it was our school community that was the real winner – the sold-out event showcased the talent, commitment and enthusiasm in our learners’ hearts and minds. We are proud of the passion they’ve shown for their houses, their school and themselves.
Choral Shield has once again emphasised our values and vision as a school and the guiding principle that "As Dalzielians, We Respect, We Include, We Achieve."
