Science & Technology Fayre 2019

The 2019 Science & Technology Fayre was a fantastic success once again.

Every S1 pupil works as part of a group on a topic of their choice. This year's ideas included hydrophobic sand, the far side of the moon - topical with the 50th anniversary of the moon landing this July, ferrofluid and invisible ink to name only a few.

Our associated primary schools also take part each year and a group is selected per school to be a finalist on the day of the Fayre. Ladywell presented a project on Strawberry DNA while Knowetop Primary did theirs on electromagnetic Tiny Dancers.

Former pupils who are now working or studying in a scientific field were invited back to judge the Science Fayre and they were very impressed by the enthusiasm and scientific knowledge of our pupils.

The winning groups were:

  • S1 Best Overall Project: Levitating Orb
  • S1 Best Presentation: Dreams
  • Primary 7 Winner: Ladywell Primary
  • Magazine winner: Class 1J

Well done to everyone involved in this year's Science and Technology Fayre.
See you next year !
