Microsoft Office 365
"Office 365" is a full version of Microsoft Office and includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote and more for all pupils for free.
Office 365 is a user-based service and allows each pupil to install on up to five PCs or Macs. It also activates editing capability in the Microsoft Office mobile applications on iPad, iPhone and Android devices. Pupils can install on home or personally-owned devices.
This will make it easy for every pupil to access the latest version of Office on up to five devices providing both consistency when learning at home and reinforcing 21st century skills through the use of ICT.
As North Lanarkshire Council has school staff subscription licensing for Microsoft Office 365, this entitles North Lanarkshire pupils to this "Student Advantage".
Pupils will get access to this as part of a program which will be rolled out by the school. This will enable them to create work at home using the full Microsoft Office 365 suite for free.
This means that North Lanarkshire pupils' Glow account will grant them access to the Office software download and also to activate the editing capabilities on the iPad versions of the Microsoft Office apps. All with total integration to their Glow "OneDrive for Business" cloud storage.
Office 365 can only be downloaded from within the Office 365 component of Glow and therefore your pupils will need to know their Glow account credentials in order to access it.
The license to use this service will be rescinded when a pupil's Glow account is disabled or deleted.
Technical support for this service on personal devices is available online from http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/support/ and NOT from North Lanarkshire Council or the School.
Pupils who may already have a personal Office 365 subscription from home need not avail of this service as it will provide no further advantage.
