School Band Success

Our school concert band took part in the finals of the Scottish Concert Band Festival in Perth Concert Hall at the weekend and I am delighted to share with you that they received a Silver Plus award! This is an amazing achievement at a national level, and even more so considering we were one of only 7 schools in Scotland invited to take part. Every single pupil represented the school with professionalism and a maturity beyond their years. I have attached a photo in case you would like to congratulate any of the pupils who you teach. Can I also take this opportunity to thank Jim Bone, Ross Carrol and Anne-Marie Smillie for the time that they give up to support the band, as well as our wonderful instrumental tutors Ross McQueen (brass), Esther Woods (woodwind) and Scott Crawford (percussion).

If you would like to hear how fabulous the band sounds, as well as our talented choirs, ceilidh band, rock band and pipe band, they will be performing at our Spring Concert on Tuesday 1st April at 7pm in St Mary's Church. Tickets are on sale from the office and are going fast!
