Social Subjects Trip - Lake Garda 2025

With sleep in their eyes and pizza on their minds, forty-eight S3 pupils and six staff left the drizzle of a Scottish summer behind and jetted off to glamorous Lake Garda, Italy, on Saturday the 14th of June, 2025.
The Social Subjects Faculty’s Grand Tour warmly invited our pupils to the magical medieval town of Sirmione, an Insta-worthy pizza party in bougie Bardolino and a knight to remember eating roast chicken with their bare hands and cheering for their champion at “Medieval Times” (where Mrs. Rodgers was chosen as the Green Knight’s favourite!)
Our pupils paddled through the enchanting city of Venice, treating themselves to a gondola ride in the shadow of the splendid St. Marks’ Basilica, and fell in love with “fair Verona”, the site of the almost-true story of Romeo and Juliet. With hair-raising visits to the Movieland and Gardaland theme parks and a night at the bowling, there really was no time to spare on this trip of a lifetime.
Ms. Esdaile, Mrs. McDermott, Mr. O’Hagan, Mr. Purvis, Mr. Shanks and Mrs. Rodgers were delighted to share such a special trip with such special pupils, and know they will have built new friendships and views on the world which will travel with them forever.
